The Short Films:

Pentecost (11 min - Peter McDonald and Eimear O'Kane - 2011 Academy Award Nominee) Eleven-year-old Damian Lynch is called in at the last moment to serve as an altar boy at an important mass in his local parish. Following his last appearance as an altar boy when he knocked Father O'Toole off the altar, Damien is serving a 3 month ban from his only passion in life...football. Damien now faces a choice: either conform to the status quo or never watch his beloved Liverpool play again... (Nominated for the 2011 Academy Award for Live Action Short Film)

The Wine Bar (12 min -
Christian Remde)
On a winter night in New York City, an average guy, Henry, wanders into an upscale wine bar looking for a beer. Obviously out of place, he innocently offends both the snooty bartender and the pretty young woman quietly reading next to him. But, when her hotheaded boyfriend comes in looking for a fight Henry decides to take matters into his own hands.

Love Thy Brother (8 min -
Ralph Macchio) A comedic look at the disastrous effects of sibling rivalry.

dik (10 min - Christopher Stollery)
A six year old boy brings home a piece of schoolwork that provokes his parents to question his sexual orientation, and their own, with disastrous yet hilarious results.

The Crush (15 min,
Michael Creagh, 2010 Academy Award Nominee)
An 8 year old schoolboy is so besotted with his teacher that he challenges her boyfriend to a duel...to the death. (Nominated for the 2010 Academy Award for Live Action Short Film)

Time Freak (11 min -
Andrew Bowler and Gigi Causey - 2011 Academy Award Nominee)
A neurotic inventor creates a time machine and gets lost traveling around yesterday. (Nominated for the 2011 Academy Award for Live Action Short Film)

New Boy (11 min -
Steph Green and Tamara Anghie - 2008 Academy Award Nominee)
Captures the experience of being the new kid in school through the eyes of Joseph, a nine year-old African boy. (Nominated for the 2008 Academy Award for Live Action Short Film)

Curfew(19 min - Shawn Christensen - 2012 Academy Award Winner) - At the lowest point of his life, Richie gets a call from his estranged sister, asking him to look after his nine-year old niece, Sophia, for a few hours. (Winner of the 2012 Academy Award for Live Action Short Film)

I called and paid over the phone (several days ago) before realizing the meetup event was closed. Let me know if by any chance I can be upgraded from the waiting list, otherwise I'll just show up and sit on the side

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
