Not Waving But Drowning [Advanced Midwest Screening]

This film has only been screened at film festivals in New York and Los Angeles to this point.

Leaving small town life in her dust, Adele moves wide eyed to New York City, and her best friend Sara stuck in their hometown. Separate for the first time in their lives, the film charts new relationships with boys, girls and eccentric old ladies. Beautiful music sequences capture fleeting emotions as their lives move in unexpected directions. The film is opened with The Most Girl Part of You a dark, but sweet short film, based on an Amy Hempel short story.

Not Rated. 100 minutes. Film starts at 5:05 PM.

Mention that you are with the Ann Arbor Film Fans Meetup and get a $2 discount when you buy your ticket at the theater.

Note: Normally I schedule the start time of Film Meetups 15 minutes before the film starts, but, given the earlier showing of this film, I think we'll be OK if we get there at 4:55-5:00 and walk in during the previews.  Official film start time is 5:00 PM.

Great people met at a nice theater and watched a movie that, in my opinion, really drug on and greatly sucked.

I love to watch these kinds of movies and discuss them afterward. I used to be in a movie group in CT; it was stimulating and fun.
