Gravity 3D IMAX

Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone - tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth...and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

The visuals were incredible and I was drawn into the story line as well. Sandra Bullock did a good job carrying the whole movie on her shoulders. IMAX was a great way to see this but I imagine it would still look incredible on a regular screen.

Fantastic movie, one of very few films for which I would recommend the 3D version.

I can't make it but I've already seen it and it's very intense! I hope you like it, I thought it was another winner from Alfonso Cuaron.

Just saw it. Definitely some edge of the seat moments like Argo. I can understand why some people wouldn't like it though. There are some girly flick moments too. See you all after 9 at Appleby's. Hmm. I wonder if people have arthritis pain in space. How does one keep from vomiting?

I really did not want to see this movie alone. It seems too scary but I work nights on M, Tu and Th. This was something I suggested to Scott so it breaks my heart I cannot attend. However, I can go to Appleby's afterward and will catch a matinee or a Wednesday night show (unless, of course, the meetup moves to Friday or Saturday :))

'Gravity' sets October box office record...

"In two days, this movie has become a cultural phenomenon. People that haven't gone to the movies in years, or who only see one or two movies a year, are going to see Gravity," says Warners domestic distribution chief Dan Fellman.
