Grand Budapest Hotel

The new film from director Wes Anderson recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars; and Zero Moustava, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting; a raging battle for an enormous family fortune; a desperate chase on motorcycles, trains, sleds, and skis; and the sweetest confection of a love affair — all against the back-drop of a suddenly and dramatically changing Continent.

Starring Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, Mathieu Amalric, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Jude Law, Harvey Keitel, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Saoirse Ronan, Léa Seydoux, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson, Owen Wilson, and introducing Tony Revolori.

100 minutes. Rated R.  Film time has yet to be posted by State Theater.

After the film we will walk across the street to Starbucks for drinks and conversation.

I couldn't make it to the group show but got away and watched it later in the neighborhood. I thought it was very cool to see so many recognizable actors hamming it up. It was not a guffaw type movie for me, unlike Wolf of Wall Street or Bridesmaids but I had a chuckle or two.

I feel like most meetups for this group always has a large turnout. It's great although I feel bad for the venues when they see the group flock... pretty excited about my first meetup with you guys

The large group is not usually a problem for the theater venue, but the after-film gathering can be a challenge to get a group of 20-30 in a downtown restaurant/pub. Still, it's a good problem to have!

Really wanted to see this with the group (sigh) but I'll have to catch with a friend later because I work this night.
