Announcing a new meeting for The Ann Arbor Indie/Classic Film Meetup Group!
What: In Bruges - St. Patricks Day!
When: Saturday, March 15, 7:15 PM
Where: Click the link below to find out!
Who should come: Everyone...Duh!
Why: Great company, hopefully a good film and...maybe green beer!
Meeting Description: It seems St. Patricks Day has been moved to the 15th this year. So I thought we would go see 'In Bruges' starring Colin Farrell. True he has yet to win me over with any of his films, but he's the only Irishman on the downtown marquee right now. Mr. Daniel "I drink your milkshake" Day-Lewis previously represented.
Anyhow I hope many of you will come and visit and give this film a shot, If only for the company and copious pints after. I'm thinking Leopold Bros. post film unless anyone can suggest someplace equally civil and even larger, as anyplace is bound to be a madhouse....
Bruges (pronounced "broozh"), the most well-preserved medieval city in the whole of Belgium, is a welcoming destination for travellers from all over the world. But for hit men Ray (Colin Farrell) and Ken (Brendan Gleeson), it could be their final destination; a difficult job has resulted in the pair being ordered right before Christmas by their London boss Harry (two-time Academy Award nominee Ralph Fiennes) to go and cool their heels in the storybook Flemish city for a couple of weeks. And when the call from Harry does finally come, Ken and Ray's vacation becomes a life-and-death struggle of darkly comic proportions and surprisingly emotional consequences. Rated R. 107 minutes.
