Here on earth? Here in London? or here at this meet up? well, 1) because my mummy and daddy loved each other very much. 2) I'm a teacher, I'm almost 30 and it was my last chance to get a visa. London seemed like a good place to go. 3) because I like music and stuff (although I don't see enough) and I'd like to meet some nice folk who also like music...and stuff.

back up North, a long time ago I embarked down the path of magic. It turns out I'm not very good, as I soon realised that you did not need to be to entertain drunk people in dark places. Now that moment has gone, I still have the elastic bands, and the flash backs of the cabaret performance that went wrong. At least I'd had the foresight to buy a fire extinguisher, but that's a whole other another story.
Christ. Er i was once in a band and our demo got rated 9 out of 10 and demo of the month in Metal Hammer magazine. Granted, that was 5 years ago though.
Despite several attempts, I have never successfully whistled in my entire life.

I have an extremely large collection of aussie and kiwi indie

I have tried and failed to play the guitar and the drums and now work in finance......and I'm a terrible salesman......
