Ian Fitzgerald is a Boston area singer-songwriter who prefers the term "folk singer" and is rooted in early 20th century field recordings and has influences that include everyone from Woody Guthrie to Townes Van Zandt to Gillian Welch. He won first place in the Boston Folk Festival Songwriting contest. His songs have lyrical precision and tell stories in the old folk tradition.
Kipyn Martin recently won gold in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, among other prizes and also was a semi-finalist in the UK song contest. Her voice has been called an instrument of unrestrained purity with warm complex tones and her gentle lyrics are emotive and refreshing.
Aaron Tinjum is originally from Minnesota and grew up on Bob Dylan and Garrison Keilor but recently moved to the DC area from Austin,TX. He performs Dylanesque ballads of lyrical topicality, among other types of songs. When he wants to say something, he writes a song. Check him out!
Come on out for a great time at 8 PM this Friday 04/11 at Electric Maid.
