Hello,
Are there any good bars etc in the DC, Northern VA area that have indie music? I dont care if there are big names, Im just looking for a chill place to hang out and listen to some good tunes.
Thanks,
Kelsey

Red Palace / Rock and Roll Hotel are two easy ones.

There's Jammin Java in Vienna too. That's a small venue with a lot of up-and-comers and not-quite-there artists. And Iota in Clarendon.

On the Maryland side, Quarry House in Silver Spring has bands some weekends (usually on the garage rock or rockabilly side, but not always). They've also got a killer jukebox and a great selection of beers, too.

Galaxy Hut in Clarendon is great--cozy space, everyone who works there is very nice, tons of great beers on tap (and always adding / changing the selection). They have good bands play on Sundays and Mondays, and when there is no band the music that is playing on the stereo is great--everything from old REM and Replacements to Jonsi and Japandriods.
