I meant to see DJ Shadow recently but missed the show (the sting lessened by having seeing him before, but I know he was doing different material). The last show I saw was Titus Andronicus. Good, though not great as they might've still been sorting between the newer album's songs and the first two. (An alt., more realistic theory: it was a weeknight, they had horrible travel to deal with, so they rushed thru everything & just bolted.) Nothing they could do to ruin songs from The Monitor (& to a lesser extent the 1st album) for me however.
Citi. Oop, friggin' present tense...I guess a mild preference for Royale currently but no real favorite.
Other than this Sleigh Bells meetup, I'd like to see Mazzy Star (though they sold out before I realized; but the tix are expensive so it's a mixed blessing). --11/23 - Minor Alps (Juliana Hatfield n' Matthew Caws of Nada Surf) - Worst case scenario, if the performance goes south fast and stays there, shout for "My Sister" & "Sex and Candy" between songs. (If insufficiently obnoxious, "escalate to "Mother Mother" and "Flagpole Sitta".) Which of course will all be unnecessary as it'll be a good show. --1/21/14 - Los Campesinos!
