Budget Movie Meetup: Pacific Rim

Join us for the next budget Meetup, the Meetup of choice for the budget conscious film fan. See a new Hollywood release at the before noon bargain showtime followed by post-movie discussion over lunch.

PACIFIC RIM is the big-budget Hollywood take on the popular Japanese genre of mecha. The short version genre summary: Good-looking young men and women pilot giant combat robots to defend humanity from destruction at the hands of alien monsters. It was directed by Guillermo del Toro so it's guaranteed to look fantastic.

The location this month is the AMC Indianapolis 17 at Southern Plaza on the south side (at the US31 exit off I465). Meetup time is 10:45 for the 11:10 show. Please note this is a 2D showtime.

The group convenes in the main lobby (past the ticket taker in the vicinity of the concession stand) before the movie; we generally take our seats about 10 minutes before showtime. If you miss us before the movie, we also gather in the hall/lobby outside the auditorium before heading on to the restaurant.

This event repeats every second Saturday. The location rotates among the three AMC multiplexes (Southern Plaza, Castleton Sq, Traders Point).

I really enjoyed the movie and discussion afterward. And I'm looking forward to the next one I can go to :-)

Very entertaining movie and good discussion after. It was formulaic but a formula I like so I can't complain. Great looking movie as expected from Guillermo del Toro.

Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed myself today! I had a really good time, and hated to have to leave early, but already had another obligation at 3pm (which I was late for because I didn't want to leave!) Anyway, looking forward to the next meetup I can attend!
