Let's Talk Movies and the MOTM: The Sting (1973)

Love movies? Love to talk about movies? Every fourth Tuesday join other movie lovers at Cornerstone Coffee/Moe and Johnny's in south Broad Ripple for two hours of good conversation on our favorite subject.

The second hour is dedicated to an in-depth discussion of the movie of the month. New for 2013, it's the First Annual Indy Film Buffs 11 Movies You Must See Before You Die. Spanning eight decades of Hollywood history, these eleven classics in as many genres are cultural touchstones and enduring favorites. This is a series you won't want to miss!

Up next is THE STING, one of the most entertaining movies ever to come out of Hollywood. If you haven't seen it yet, far be it from me to spoil the surprise.

This event repeats every fourth Tuesday. Everyone is encouraged to watch the movie of the month either on their own or at the showing hosted by Gary the Sunday before the meeting.

Really enjoyed seeing THE STING again and we had another excellent discussion.

As always the discussion of the MOTM was extensive and informative. Although the surprise factor (after knowing the story from prior viewings) was no longer present we still felt seeing the movie again was rewarding because of all the details and background factors that we were able to observe with this viewing. Excellent casting, acting and intelligent story telling plus the additive values of the costumes, musical score and "old school" scene enhancing devices used--all elements woefully lacking from many of the noisy, special-effects laden and plot thin newer movies.

I rewatched this about a moth ago. I had forgotten how intriguing it was. Excellent and one of my forgoteen favorites
