Hey everyone, we've received free passes to the new film written and directed by the Coen Brothers. "True Grit" stars Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, and Josh Brolin. The Coens have said that this isn't a remake of the 1969 film starring John Wayne, but it's their adaptation of the original novel by Charles Portis. The film starts at 7PM, but I've set the meet-up time for 6pm so we can all arrive early and sit together. I'm only allowing yes or no rsvps for this event since seating is limited. I'll be in the lobby of the Landmark Keystone Art Theater at 6pm to hand out the passes. Hope to see you there!

I am so glad that I was able to make it! The stilted, old fashioned language was a delight to my ears! And the "character" of the actors - so authentic!

Truely outstanding, the amount of totaly ugly character actors was refreshing. Mr Bridges performance was curmudgeonly, yet delightful. WOW

True Grit was a great movie--and it made me want to go back and see the John Wayne version again.

I am so bummed I missed it! I RSVPed and then got hit with incredible traffic. There was an accident (small, no one got hurt), but it backed up traffic an hour...

At The Tourist the other night, they did that - a Hamilton County sheriff was baggin & taggin all phones. Glad I forgot mine@ home - definitely leave 'em behind! We were also scanned with a metal detector - little did we know that there was a bomb in our midst...and I'm glad that I didn't have to pay to watch it implode on itself...

It's been a while since I've been to a free preview screening, but the language on my passes (and again, I got mine from a different source than the ones Gary has, but I suspect the wording is the same) suggests that they may well have security people at the door, wanding you/us for any "recording devices" (including cell phones)- and if they find one on you, it will be confiscated. This may well not happen- but, just to be on the safe side, you might want to leave your phone in your car.

Then you can count on me being early. I'll use it as an excuse to have more drinks in the lounge.

We have 50 tickets in hand. What we don't have is guaranteed seating- per free screening usual, admission is first come, first served.

Will there be enough passes to accomodate this many people? I'll be taking time off from work to attend this, so I'm concerned about the possibility of showing up empty handed.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
