Friday nights in January and February mark your calendars for the 2014 Winter Nights Film Series at the IMA. The series theme this year is comedies; mostly classic Hollywood. January's lineup moves through the decades from the '30s to the '80s, while February's is dedicated to the great comedians of the silent era.
This week's movie is Woody Allen's 1979 comedy MANHATTAN, considered by many critics his best film. Co-starring with Allen are Diane Keaton, Michael Murphy, Mariel Hemingway and Meryl Streep.
The movie starts at 7 in the Toby theater. We'll meet at the seating area of the Toby lobby at 6:45. If you can't make it before showtime, look for us in the lobby after the movie as we gather for post-movie discussion.
TICKETS AND PARKING: The IMA is located at the northwest corner of 38th St and Michigan Rd on the city's near west side. Tickets are $9/ $5 for IMA members and can be purchased, at the museum or online, in advance or on the evening of. Paid parking is available in the main surface lot and the garage for $5/ free for IMA members. There's free-to-all parking in the smaller lots located by the Michigan Rd entrance
