Friday nights in January and February mark your calendars for the 2014 Winter Nights Film Series at the IMA. The series theme this year is comedies; mostly classic Hollywood. January's lineup moves through the decades from the '30s to the '80s, while February's is dedicated to the great comedians of the silent era.
This week's movie is the Harold Lloyd comedy DR JACK. There will be live piano accompaniment.
The movie starts at 7 in the Toby theater. We'll meet at the seating area of the Toby lobby at 6:45. If you can't make it before showtime, look for us in the lobby after the movie. This week we're going to take advantage of the short running time (just 60 minutes) to go out afterwards to Szechwan Garden restaurant.
The restaurant is a few minutes away on Lafayette Road just south of 38th St. It's located right on Lafayette Rd on the east side of the street. Address is 3649 Lafayette Rd. There's strip parking in front.
TICKETS AND PARKING: The IMA is located at the northwest corner of 38th St and Michigan Rd on the city's near west side. Tickets are $9/ $5 for IMA members and can be purchased, at the museum or online, in advance or on the evening of. Paid parking is available in the main surface lot and the garage for $5/ free for IMA members. There's free-to-all parking in the smaller lots located by the Michigan Rd entrance
