"Sita Sings the Blues" is a 2008 animated feature film that is "written, directed, produced and animated by American artist Nina Paley primarily using 2D computer graphics and Flash Animation. It intersperses events from the Ramayana, illustrated conversation between Indian shadow puppets, musical interludes voiced with tracks by Annette Hanshaw and scenes from the artist's own life."
The film is charming and critically acclaimed, though somewhat controversial due to the associated copyright laws. It's more about using whimsical creativity to illustrate themes rather than serving up just the classic story.

We'll start with a pitch-in dinner at 7ish, and the movie will be around 8:30.
P.S. For those who can make it over before the movie to have dinner tomorrow, I'll have a few vegetarian curry dishes (one Indiana curry and one Thai curry), brown rice and iced tea.
If you're undecided on an item to bring for dinner, Trader Joe's has all kinds of Indian and international type sauces that are easy to use, just add ingredients to make a dish. They also have naan bread there.
