"The Seven-Per-Cent Solution" and "Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan" At Gary's

Hey everyone, I'll be featuring 2 films written by Nicholas Meyer for July's cult movie night.  Feel free to bring a drink or a snack to share.  We'll order some pizzas between the films.

Nicholas Meyer wrote the novel and the screenplay adaptation for the Sherlock Holmes adventure "The Seven-Per-Cent" solution (1976).  Holmes (Nicol Williamson) believes that Professor Moriarty (Laurence Olivier) lurks in the shadows, plotting some nefarious scheme.  Holmes' friend Dr Watson (Robert Duvall) thinks that the detective's opium addiction is causing paranoid delusions reguarding the mild mannered scholar.  Watson brings in Sigmund Freud (Alan Arkin) to help Holmes overcome his addiction, and get to the truth of the matter.  During the treatment however Holmes, Watson, and Freud, become involved in a kidnapping case involving Lois Deveraux (Vanessa Redgrave).

Meyer directed and performed an uncredited re-write of "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)."   Admiral James T Kirk (William Shatner) has been confined to a desk and fears that his greatest adventures are behind him.  However, his greatest enemy Khan (Ricardo Montalban) and his crew of genetically engineered supermen are about to make their presence known after their 15 year exile.  Kirk, Spock (Leonard Nimoy), "Bones" McCoy (DeForest Kelly), and the rest of the U.S.S. Enterprise Crew have to stop Khan and his followers from obtaining the "Genesis" device, or it's universal armageddon.

     Hope to see you there!

Looking forward to meeting y'all. This is my first, how does this work? I saw information at some point that said to bring something. Help!

Hey Kimber, no worries. Bringing something isn't a necessity, but if you'd like just bring some kind of snack food. We'll get some pizzas between the films.
