Let's Talk Movies and the MOTM: Winning (1969)

Love movies? Love to talk about movies? Join other movie lovers at Cornerstone Coffee/Moe and Johnny's in south Broad Ripple for two hours of good conversation on our favorite subject.

The second hour is dedicated to an in-depth discussion of the movie of the month. The theme for 2014 is movies every Hoosier should see. Whether you're a born and bred Hoosier or new to our fair state, this is a series you won't want to miss!

The sub-theme for the middle five months of the series is Hoosier history and culture. WINNING is an actors' showcase for Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. Newman plays a professional race car driver whose life is dominated by the track, to the detriment of his marriage. The second half of the movie revolves around the Indy 500 and features actual race day footage from the 1966 and 1968 races.

This event repeats every fourth Tuesday. Everyone is encouraged to watch the movie of the month either on their own or at the showing hosted by Gary the Sunday before the meeting.
