Meet the Film Buffs at IMA Summer Nights

Join us for a movie under the stars! For August's Meet the Film Buffs Meetup, we're heading to the IMA for the Summer Nights film series. We'll be watching the classic Hitchcock suspense film To Catch a Thief, starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. Bring a drink or a potluck dish for a picnic supper before the movie.

IMA members: Meet Helen at the box office at 6 and help stake out a place for the group on the terrace.

The movie starts at dusk in the museum's riverside amphitheatre (in the Toby in the event of rain). Tickets are $10 ($5 for IMA members). Doors open at 6:30 for general admission. Gary and Helen will be in the lobby in the vicinity of the box office from 6:30 to 6:45; after that you'll find us on the terrace.

What to bring ( per the IMA): "Picnic materials, lawn chairs, candles, food, non-alcoholic beverages, blankets, bug repellent, citronella candles, and your friends are our suggestions! You may not bring pets, candles taller than 12 inches, grills, or alcoholic beverages. This is also a non-smoking venue. Concessions, including alcoholic beverages, are available on-site for purchase."

Meet the Film Buffs will move month to month to different locations around the city. If you'd like to request that Meet the Film Buffs come to your neighborhood, leave a comment on this page or email Helen. Venue suggestions are also welcome.

It was a perfect evening for an outdoor movie. Great company and I'd forgotten how entertaining the movie is.

Unfortunately, I will have moved by then. I love this movie - a classic. Grace is ice-cool and Cary is debonair. They don't make movies like this anymore!
