Halloween Party-Joint Meetup with Indy Gaming

Hey everyone, Heather, the organizer for the Indy Gaming Meetup group has invited the Indy Film Buffs for a Halloween party at her house. The festivities start at 1PM and will last until 2 am. Here's a schedule of events:

1-7PM-Horror-themed board games and role-playing games for ages 12 and up. At some point during the day the Kisher Boffer Live Action Role Playing Group will be running an event.

8PM-2AM-More gaming, music, bonfire, beer, a costume contest, and "The Indy Film Buffs" will be hosting the horror movies "The Hitcher" (1985) and "The Killer Must Kill Again" from 7PM-11PM in the viewing room.

"The Hitcher" stars Rutger Hauer and C. Thomas Howell. Howell plays a young man who picks up a hitchhiker (Hauer) on a deserted stretch of California highway only to be tormented by the man's repeated appearances. Is he real or a figment of his imagination?

"The Killer Must Kill Again" is a 1975 dark and disturbing thriller. A rich womanizer (George Hilton) plans to murder his wife. He blackmails a man into doing the evil deed for him. The car with the murdered woman's corpse is stolen by a pair of joyriders. The vicious killer sets off in pursuit-with more than one murder on his mind this time.

At some point during the evening "Dating For Nerds" will stop by to distribute discount passes for one of their events.

There will be a $5.00 fee to cover associated costs. If you're also an "Indy Gaming" member and have already donated to "Indy Gaming" in 2012 you would be excluded from this fee.

Feel free to show up at any time between the 1PM-2AM time frame. Hope to see you there!

Here's Heather's info for the party:

4801 E. 65th St., Indianapolis IN

When you get here please park across the street off of Bar Will unless you are either running a game or spending the night. The driveway is tricky to get out of after dark.

The first gaming events begin at Noon. People are welcome to come over starting after 11am. The event is for ages 12 and up until 7pm. At 8pm the party is for ages 21 and up only. The party will be over at 2am but if you would like to spend the night and camp out you are welcome to do so.

There will be open gaming from Noon-2am and a variety of scheduled movies/activities/ rpg's from noon till about midnight. LIST OF PRE-REG EVENTS - this list has links within it to pre-reg for the individual events. Starting at 8pm there will be a bonfire party at the cabin with traditional bonfire-like activities and music. (Costumes for any part of but especially the evening event are strongly encouraged. I'm still torn between Rainbow Brite and the Mad Hatter.. or maybe Dungeon Girl.. idk.)

What to bring:

Everyone should either bring a covered dish, chips, soda, large coolers with ice, or contribute 5$'s. (Unless you've already paid dues in 2012 in which case, you have already kicked in your 5$) I've rented a hotdog vending machine and bought stuff for about 50 hotdogs. I've also got a lot of tortilla chips with nacho cheese sauce, some giant pickles, at ton of candy, and apple slices. There are cups, plates, and napkins as well. There will be beer for the >21 event in the evening.

My general sense is that soda/tea/bottled waters and ice will be VERY popular with snack foods and hotdog-side items coming in second and third. If there is something hot-dog like that you would like to pitch in like tornodo's or skinny brats that would be great too. Be warned..We don't have a microwave!!! So, microwave pop-corn and quick re-heating are not possible. There should be plenty of room for plugging in crock pots but if you bring chili you may need to also bring bowls and spoons.

If you are thinking about camping out bring camping stuff! Or camp like Rock-Star Bill and sleep in your car! :)

If you have a favorite board game that your itching to play, especially if it's horror themed, bring it!

Phew, that's about it. :) I'm really excited about the event and I hope that everyone has a great time! As the event gets closer I'm going to get harder to get a-hold of so if you send me an e you might also send one to Vanessa and Flash Gordon.

Peace, Love, and Natural 20's!

Hey all, I just wanted to let you know that you can bring a snack, drink, desert, or covered dish to the event instead of paying the $5.00 cover charge. You can still pay the $5.00 cover charge instead that's fine too.
