Budget Movie Meetup: Zero Dark Thirty

Join us for the next budget Meetup, the Meetup of choice for the budget conscious film fan. See a new Hollywood release at the $5 before noon bargain showtime followed by post-movie discussion over lunch.

For the first budget Meetup of 2013 we'll see ZERO DARK THIRTY, a dramatization of the decade-long hunt for bin Laden. It was directed by Kathryn Bigelow (THE HURT LOCKER) and stars Jessica Chastain, Mark Strong, and Joel Edgerton among others in a large cast. (ZERO DARK THIRTY is scheduled to go into nationwide expansion on the 11th; however, the release date has been pushed back a couple of times already. If it doesn't go wide that weekend, we'll see GANGSTER SQUAD instead.)

The Meetup time is 11:15 and showtime is 11:30. Running time is 2 hr, 40 min (expect about 20 minutes of previews). If you miss us before the movie, we also gather in the lobby before heading on to the restaurant.

This event repeats every second Saturday. The location rotates among the three AMC multiplexes (Southern Plaza, Castleton Sq, Traders Point).

I'm going to have to bail out of this one. I've had something come up that I need to attend to. However, I'll be there tomorrow for "Holy Motors" for sure.

That's just for the after-film meetup -- after we see a film, we like to go to a nearby restaurant for food and an after-film discussion. There's no limit for the film itself.

If the past is any guide (and it usually is) anyone who joins the wait list will be bumped up to "yes" by showtime
