Constantly. In addition to watching them for fun, I'm a professional review critic and have three full-length review books commercially available. One of them has been a seven-time #1 Amazon.com best-seller ("The G.O.R.E. Score: A Review Guide to All Things Zombie, Vol. 1," Kindle's Pop Culture chart,[masked]), neat-o!
In no particular order, a few directors that I would watch any movie they made: Mel Brooks, Dario Argento, Danny Boyle, David Fincher, and George Romero.
Three actors I would watch in any movie at any time: Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman, Ian McKellan. I also have an affinity for John Malkovich, Geoffrey Rush, Ben Stiller, William H. Macy, Jack Black, and - don't laugh - Paul Reubens. I've just noticed my list is all male. Very strange.
I'm a huge Ed Wood fan. I have a special place in my heart for"Plan 9 from Outer Space," and I'm honored to have been recently contracted to write the novelization of the film (book due out late 2013). I'm currently working from a copy of Ed's original script to, hopefully, create the truly thrilling and suspenseful story he had intended to, before being limited by pesky details such as budget, acting talent, and time constraints.
#1 All-Time Favorite Awesome Movie: Spaceballs. Others near the top, in no particular order: The Producers (both original and movie-musical remake are good), Night of the Living Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, Repo: The Genetic Opera, and Cannibal: The Musical.
