Announcing a new Meetup for Indy Film Buffs Meetup Group!

What: February MOTH - Rear Window, dir. by Alfred Hitchcock

When: February 24,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: February's movie of the month is "Rear Window," one of the greatest films by the great master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock. James Stewart stars as a photographer immobilized at home by a broken leg who alleviates his boredom by watching (spying on) his neighbors across the courtyard of his apartment block. Voyeurism turns potentially deadly when he becomes convinced one of his neighbors has murdered his wife. The film co-stars Raymond Burr as the possibly homicidal husband and Grace Kelly as the hero's love interest.

In deference to the fact this meetup is scheduled two days after the Oscars, the first hour of the meetup will be devoted to breaking down the awards and other movie-related chit-chat. The "Rear Window" discussion will start at 8. We will begin by going around the table and asking everyone to give their first impressions of the film, then open the floor to a discussion of topics like the film's artistic significance, influence on the suspense genre, and the ways that it illustrates Hitchcock's trademark narrative and visual style.

(Gary will be hosting a social showing of the film at his place two weekends prior to the meetup. Check the site for more details as that meetup is scheduled.)
