The movie Densha Otoko is playing at the IMA in the Tobi Theatre. The movie is a popular Japanese story about an otaku who saves a girl from a molester on a train, and the events that follow it with the guy falling completely in love with her and asking advice from others in a chat room- creating a huge phenomena on the internet. It's $9 per ticket, the full details can be found at http://www.imamuseum.org/calendar/trainman
. It's too short-notice to make a meetup for it, but I hope to see some others there!
This is being put on by our brothers in arms at the Japanese American Society of Indiana, JASI. This is part of thier Spring film series and one that we should assist in any way possible. JASI is also considering running anime but needs these events to get off to a good start before such screenings may become a reality. This has been one of our goals from the begining so lets at the very least work hard to spread the word about this series. You can find out more about JASI and the series at www.japanindiana.org
