Emily Wells is an eclectic, adventurous, one-woman band. She packs so many influences and instruments in her music, with a foundation that is equal parts contemporary classical and hip-hop. Her dynamic performance style must be seen to be believed. Using looping techniques similar to artists like Andrew Bird or Kishi Bashi, while also sharing their penchant for incorporating violin into their works, what separates Wells is her funky, rhythmic flair.
Adding to that hip-hop flavor is her recent collaboration, Pillowfight, with Dan the Automator, notable for his work with Gorillaz and Deltron 3030 among many other artists he has produced.
