Fountain Square Music Festival

This is an all day festival featuring many great emerging and established artists, with some particular favorites of mine such as Kansas Bible Company and Modoc.  The music will run from 12:30pm to 9:45, when the Indianapolis fireworks display will begin.  I have been in Fountain Square for many past 4th of July fireworks displays and can assure you that the neighborhood offers a wonderful vantage point to see the fireworks.

The stage will be under a large tent in a parking lot.  You're welcome to bring chairs and blankets.  You will be able to come and go from the festival at will, so you can explore the neighborhood's cool shops, restaurants and bars throughout the day for all of your shopping, dining and drinking needs.

The lineup of artists is thus:

Truth & Salvage Co.
Kansas Bible Company
Jeremy Vogt Band
Red Light Driver
Shelby County Sinners

Although not necessarily in that order.

Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 day of show and can be purchased online for a slight service fee here:

Proceeds from the event benefit the Fountain Square Arts Council

This was a great start for this Fountain Square event. I know the promoters consider it a success, far surpassing their expectations. Many bands were great, including Truth Salvage Co. and Modoc, but I think the lively and celebratory set from Kansas Bible Company stole the show. I look forward to seeing them in Indy again soon when they play Radio Radio in a couple of weeks. I'm going to arrange a meetup for it later today.

I might be getting away from work earlier than I expected. I will definitely be there by 3:30. Might even be as early as 2. Feel free to contact me whenever any of you arrive.

    Any suggestions on parking?

I'm not sure if this is taking up the lot next to the Murphy Building or not. I usually park there. There's also a large public parking area in front of the Family Dollar and police station. Bud's market has a lot of parking space too. All of these spots are very visible along Shelby St., just south of the Fountain, where it intersects with Virginia and Prospect. There should be many other spaces available around the neighborhood, most non-metered, so finding a spot shouldn't be a problem.

The earliest I'll probably be able to get there is 2:30, but more likely by 3:30. My number is[masked]-1311. Feel free to text or call me at any time to find out where I am so we can all get together. I'll be grabbing drinks and food at various points from some of the very close by establishments throughout the afternoon/evening.
