White Denim is a band overflowing with energy and musical ideas that they jam into each and every one of their songs. To pin them down to a particular genre is a difficult task. Influences of dub, psychedelic rock, blues, punk rock, progressive rock, soul, jazz and experimental rock can be found throughout their work, and sometimes within a single track. Rest assured, though, that this abundance of ideas does not come at the expense of strong songcraft or coherence. It all fits together to good effect. Jammy, but not to the point of meandering self-indulgence. Experimental, but not to the point of confusing dissonance. They're simply a lot of fun and accomplished, adventurous musicians.
Maps & Atlases and Tiny Victories are the opening bands on the bill.
Since this show is at The Bluebird in Bloomington and I live on the south side of Indy in the Greenwood area, I would like to leave from around Greenwood by 7pm. Anyone who is interested in joining me to ride down together to save on gas is welcome to do so. Text or call me on my mobile at[masked]-1311.
Tickets are $10. It doesn't look like its expected to be a sell out crowd, but if you would like to purchase them in advance online, you can do so here: http://ticketf.ly/QvLzQG
