Ah, holiday's finally over.. that means CON SEASON BEGINS!!! I've added WhosYerCon to our calendar but if you know of any, or plan on attending any other con's across the country send me a note and I'll add it to our calendar.
Last year I shifted the group title from just DnD to DnD and Gaming.. that means ALL GAMING. I've added a card playing meetup to the calendar but I'll need your help to really start fleshing these out.. what are you guys playing.. what do you want to play? I like the idea of doing a Settlers of Catan tournament meetup and maybe one for just war games like Axis and Allies. As we branch out I'm happy to hear suggestions... I haven't taken any ranks in Knowledge: card or board games yet so any experts who would like to step up would be MOST appreciated! Anyone out there still playing Magic? Got kids that would enjoy a Pokemon or Bella Sara match?
We've been having some trouble with locations and have tried out some different places recently. The Fountain Square Diner switched to a BBQ place with worse service and worse food. They still make great shakes but that's about it. The Arsenal is closed on Sunday's, which were once our typical meeting day.. and right now the best central location that doesn't require reservations/ is quietish is a bar.. which is fine SOME of the time... but we will have to find a new regular home. In the meanwhile keep an eye out for the locations we meet at and let me know of any places you are aware of that you think might be cool.
Here's an odd question for you.. in Chicago they have a "Dating for Nerds" meetup that's pretty popular. Do you guys have any interest in me starting to do singles oriented events? I think the concept is fun so I wouldn't mind.
This is a real world social networking group designed to help gamers of all types meet one another and create a city wide Gen Con friend culture 365 days a year. We will try to link all the open games around the city so that you can check our calendar to see what's going on.. hopefully we can run our calendar like a con schedule with a variety of activities, locations, and dates. We have gamer get-togethers all around the city where we enjoy each other's company and make new friends at least once a month... you are invited! This is the group of friends every gamer should be lucky enough have. :)
