Jared Brown here. As you may know Indianapolis is about to have a slew of great tech (and music) events. As part of the unofficial Indy Tech Week I'm co-hosting an event called Indy Hack Day.
An Event for Doers
While the other great events in Indy Tech Week are focused on speakers and thinking about building awesome stuff. Indy Hack Day is where that stuff gets built. It's a day to work on that project you haven't had time to finish and learn some new techniques in one of the hands-on workshops.
It's a one day event (9:30 - 6:30) hosted at the Speak Easy and DeveloperTown that's happening on Sun, Oct 14th. You do not have to stay for the whole day. You are welcome to attend according to your schedule. If you haven't seen the new Speak Easy this is a great chance to check it out.
Fueling You Up
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is provided and includes donuts, coffee, pizza, soda, water and delicious BBQ. For vegetarians we will be ordering Noodles & Co for dinner and have cheese pizza for lunch.
Turning Workshops to 11
The workshops at the last Indy Hack Day were a huge success. So we turned it up a notch this time. We have some stellar workshops lined up for the day. The fine folks from Modulus.io will be getting things started with a Node.js 101 workshop and are giving out accounts to there new Node.js platform. The guys from InstrumentalApp will be leading a workshop all about metrics and getting people who are interested setup with InstrumentalApp accounts. We'll also have a Lean Startup workshop led by Kyle Shipley.
Here's what attendees of the last Indy Hack Day had to say about it.
So good hanging with my people - @rhythmofself
Had a blast at @IndyHackDay! Hell of a job - @BrandonCorbin
We are shooting for around 50 people to attend. Tickets are selling quickly. We already sold out an early batch of tickets. But there are still some early bird tickets left that are priced at $40. Regular tickets are $50.
