American Legion/IMG Bike Insurance Q & A, Ask the Attorney and Bike Night.

Motorcycle Insurance and Injury Awareness Symposium

OPEN TO ALL RIDERS! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE AN AMERICAN LEGION OR IMG MEMBER TO ATTEND!

Do you have the right insurance coverage? Do you have enough? Are you REALLY protected against loss & injury from an uninsured or underinsured motorist? Or do you just THINK you are covered? Do you know what your options are for getting coverage that assures you the piece of mind proper coverage brings? It's much better to know the answers to these questions before you have to find out the hard (and expensive) way that you are not as well covered as you think you are/were. What are your options and protections under the law if you are injured due to no fault of your own? How can you plan ahead for others negligence? How can you get help to recover from a loss?

These issues are very real to motorcyclists and the IMG is doing something to help our riders get the answers they need by bringing in Monte Smith of State Farm in Fishers and our own IMG Injury Attorney, Steven Crell, to the Fishers American Legion Post #470 for a FREE presentation and question and answer session from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Monte and Steve will be giving a short presentation about what you should consider when you are building your coverage to protect yourself against as many scenarios as possible and what to do when you need to use your coverage in the event of an injury or loss.

THIS IS IMPORTANT STUFF!

Steve and Monte have volunteered to spend a couple hours with us so that we can ride safer and with more confidence this season and I hope MANY of you will attend on Thursday, April the 24th.

Did I mention...it's also BIKE NIGHT at the Legion? Great Food, beverages, and a place to hang out after the presentation. It's all there.

This could be one of our most important events of the summer, please find the time to attend, bring your policy, see how it measures up. Please RSVP so the legion will know what to anticipate and feel free to ask questions or comment below. VZ

This is NOT a sales pitch! This is two good guys who have agreed to sit down and discuss YOUR needs with no strings attached, it is for your information and peace-of-mind only. You will not be asked to buy ANYTHING, but you can buy food and beverages. VZ

I'm leaving Chicago early to make this presentation. It's an important subject to learn- you wouldn't believe what they DON'T tell you about insurance.
Yes, even my eyes glaze over when I hear "insurance" but considering what it's for, and the likelihood of needing to get this part right, it's a good place way to build protection right the first time.

Dan, you hit the nail on the head, this is NOT a sales presentation, it is a gathering of riders seeking information. It is my hope that questions will be answered and people will be educated and prepaired. It's a tough world out there and it pays to be self sufficient. And, It's bike night.

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend this as I will be at a Jr Honor Society presentation for my youngest son. Take good notes for me!

This maybe a stupid question but I'm up for it anyway. Since it's at the legion and for this and bike night don't you have to be a member of the legion to go?

    April 9

    • Joshua L.

No. These events are open to the public and are part of the Legion's way to give back to the community.

If you are eligible to join the Legion or the SAL I am sure that someone would get you signed up while you are there though!

Post #470 will be having Bike Nights every Thursday night during the riding season, the Insurance/Injury event will ONLY be held this one time on the 24th, so if you can't make it on the 24th, remember there are good times (with great food and drinks at reasonable prices) to be had each and EVERY Thursday at the Legion in Fishers all season long.

This event is rain or shine, plenty of parking space at the Legion if you have to come in your car/truck. VZ

This just in the Post Commander has said he will rope off all of the front of the Legion for bike parking. Please RSVP so that I can ensure we have the staff to handle you all.

What if we are not members of the American Legion, can we still attend the symposium?

    March 22, 2014

    • Jim "VonZipper" L.

      Yes, absolutly.

      March 22, 2014

    • Vince S.

Yes you are welcome to attend. You can always attend any of the functions at the Legion or come for food. Hope you can make it.

Any southsiders who want to ride up together, meet in the Pizza King parking lot on Bluff and Southport by 5:30. Kickstands up by 5:45.

Speaking from experience, a very expensive learning experience, this would be a good thing to attend. If I had known then what I know now, I might have saved myself some aggravation! Anyone who rides should attend this! I'll be there!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
