If you currently use PHP or even just interested it, please join and participate. We often meet at bars - if you are not yet 21 please contact the organizer to check the venue before coming out to a meeting.
We are currently meeting on regular basis on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, with meetups at various locations around Indianapolis (the 2nd Tuesday is usually held downtown). Meetings start at 6:30 (unless otherwise scheduled), with a break at 7pm for presentations or discussions. Please speak up if you are unable to attend due to scheduling or location and we will experiment with making changes.
Short presentations are welcome -- please contact the organizer to arrange in advance. We will also have some less formal directed discussion time to allow people to bring up questions or areas of interest to the group. Feel free to bring a laptop and some code to play with if you want to share or get some help.
Because using PHP often incorporates other languages and protocols, we also cover topics such as: MySQL, JavaScript, Regular Expressions, Apache/HTTP, HTML, XML, JSON, AJAX, jQuery, and so on.
PHP is used extensively by businesses and hobbyists to build dynamic web pages and other general programming tasks. Whether you are a novice or an expert, there is an abundance and variety of applications, methods, frameworks, libraries, and design patterns to keep you always learning something new. Getting together regularly gives us a chance to learn, exchange ideas, network, and share tips and tricks we've discovered.
