I apologize, but for several reasons the October PHP meetup is canceled.
1) We don't have a good location for the meeting this month. 2) Only 2 members RSVPd "Yes", leading me to believe that nobody would show up. 3) John isn't going to be there. (C'mon John!) 4) I don't have anything prepared for you all.
I've been remiss in my duties as meetup organizer. I promise I'll take care of all of these issues before the November meetup, which will be one of the best yet...mark my words.
If you currently use PHP or even just interested it, please join and participate. Since some meetings are at bars, if you are not yet 21 please contact the organizer to check the venue before coming out to a meeting. If you have a PHP job (direct hire or contract) that you wish to communicate to the members, please email the organizer along with details of the job and how to apply and it will be included in the semi-regular announcements.
We have regular discussion meetings and training meetings. Presentations or offers to teach a class are welcome -- please contact the organizer to arrange in advance. Feel free to bring a laptop and some code to play with if you want to share or get some help.
PHP is used extensively by businesses and hobbyists to build dynamic web pages and other general programming tasks. Whether you are a novice or an expert, there is an abundance and variety of applications, methods, frameworks, libraries, and design patterns to keep you always learning something new. Getting together regularly gives us a chance to learn, exchange ideas, network, and share tips and tricks we've discovered.
