DEVELOPER PROFILE
- Will contribute to software development effort that will ship on
thousands of devices on roll out.
- Will see the big picture delivering a platform that is robust and extensible.
- Must be a self learner who can pick up new technologies as the
development effort requires it.
- Must be able to evaluate and recommend solutions to development efforts.

PROGRAMMING
Python programming language is extensively used in our developing our
software products.
System/back-end developers should have expertise in python programming
including but not
limited to: familiar with Pythonic idioms, coding styles and best
practices; familiarity with python
standard library and popular libraries related to web development and
data manipulation; code
organization and structuring; interfacing with relational and
non-relational databases; writing
shell scripts.

OPERATING SYSTEM
Our hardware platform as well as our hosted services use Linux.
Competent knowledge of Linux operating system, shells, programming
tools, and system
utilities is essential for the system/back-end developer. The
developer must make best use of
Linux system utilities and be able to write scripts and utilities that
play well with the ecosystem.

DATABASE
• Competency in performing ad-hoc SQL queries using SELECT, WHERE, GROUPBY.

DEVELOPMENT PRACTICES
• Must be proficient with version control systems.  Competency in
using git and/or
mercurial highly valued.
• Must be experienced in bug-tracking systems to report, capture and
analyze bugs
reported during development, testing and deployment.


Position type: Contract (after Non Disclosure Agreement executed)
Contract length: 6 months (full time employment for top performers to follow)
Compensation: $30/hour (reported on year end 1099 Form)
Time Commitment: 20 to 40 hours per week (expect most hours in office
team environment)
