First, thanks to those who showed up for our last minute meeting change and weird timeslot! Also thanks again go out to Jeff and his crew at the NCAA for giving us a really nice place to have the meetings!
At the last meeting, we had the biggest wooden table I've ever seen. It felt like we were planning world domination, or at least gallantly saving Camelot from the evil statically typed languages!
I moved the time back to 7:00p.m. and we also all decided that we're going to start doing two meetings a month! How's that for more Ruby love! We're also going to start having a brief news segment at the beginning of every meeting where Garrett will give us an update on what's new with Ruby. Lastly, we have our own website now! Thanks to Chris for setting up a Wiki and Subversion instance (http://irug.yeti-factory.org/
) for all of us to use.
So to summarize (for those who are skimming this e-mail):
* Meetings bi-monthly
* Official IRUG website: http://irug.yeti-factory.org/
* Ruby news segments
* Continued hospitality from the NCAA
The next meeting will be
Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 7:00 PM
Where: NCAA Building, Federation Room
700 West Washington Street
Indianapolis, IN 46204
It will be more informal, we're going to have the new Ruby News segment, and then do lightening talks for everyone, then some code show & tell if we have time. Hope to see everyone there!
Please take a moment to RSVP. (You can RSVP 'No' or 'Maybe' as well as 'Yes'.)
