I like the "pragmatic programming" book about ruby on rails. I think  
it's at least a year dated. I come from a programming background and  
it was a very fast but effective read.

I'm not a ruby guru in terms of hours spent in development so I'm sure  
there are other good reccs to be found on this list

I thought I saw you at drupalcon. :) Hope yr enjoying and Ill say hi  
if i spot you in person. Liked some of yr blog posts
