Fishbowl: ethics in software development

  • January 16, 2014 · 5:30 PM
  • SEP

Join us for a fun fishbowl discussion this month about ethics in software development.

Do we, as software engineers/designers/architects/etc., have a moral or ethical responsibility in regards to the software we help write? Should we? Do we think twice about writing software that guides military drones? Do we seek out opportunities to write software for improving agricultural efficiency? And what about exposing insecure coding practices? Your input and that of your peers is what will make this a fascinating discussion.

As always, we'll start with pizza and socializing (Social Pizza™) at 5:30pm and some short intro stuff around 6.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
