Working Remotely from Indiana for an Australian Startup based in San Francisco

How does someone from Indiana meet up with Australian co-founders for an exciting new internet startup? What's it like to work across time zones and accents while building a brand new company? What's different between Indiana and California? What's data science and how will machine learning change the world?

Join us for a casual discussion with Jeff Moser, CTO of Kaggle, as he answers these questions and more.

Kaggle is a startup that is "making data science a sport" by running competitions on a wide range of tough problems like improving healthcare, locating dark matter in the universe, predicting shopper activity, and finding beautiful pictures. Kaggle wants to create a meritocracy where the best data scientists can earn more than top athletes.

As always, we'll start with pizza and socializing (Social Pizza™) at 5:30pm and some short intro stuff around 6.

Great presentation. It was fascinating to see the evolution from side project to CTO. It was inspirational and technical. Having Jeff speak was a pleasure I didn't even notice there was no pizza until it was over.
