GenCon Seminar: Creating Comics Q&A (SEM1346408)

Hi guys, I noticed a lot of our membership has crossover in the gaming meetup groups, so this may interest a bunch of you!

Please note that this event is for GenCon ticket-holders only. You may register for the event at this page:

Want to make comics? Have a problem with your current comic? Join the creators of The Brothers Grant and Little Guardians for a Q&A session about the craft of comics. Come puzzled. Leave befuddled.

About your hosts and their comics:
By day, Chris Ludden and Ginger Dee are mild-mannered graphic designers. At night, they transform into a comics super couple. Their crime-comedy The Brothers Grant chronicles the adventures of grumpy bounty hunter Sam and his excitable brother Kevin. Sam aims to destroy crime in the city of Harrison while Kevin struggles to keep him from wrecking his life, their apartment, and the American Midwest.

Lee Cherolis is a comic artist and graphic designer from Indianapolis who has built his life on a foundation of justice, comics, and tacos. Lee’s comic Little Guardians is a fantasy adventure series about family, destiny, and kicking demon butt, a lot. Lots of butt.

      Hey Jonathan,

There are a couple panels on game art and working as a freelance illustrator in the gaming industry, but they're on Thursday.

      You may try these

I'd also suggest the panels connected to the Writer's Symposium. Much of what is discussed (storytelling, worldbuilding, character development, etc.) carries over to comics. They're spread throughout the con.

And there's always the IWG meetup on Saturday night.

      Hope this helps!

Ginger and Chris - thanks for the info! Events did not allow me to make Gen Con Indy this year - I was even scheduled for a portfolio review with the ADs for WOTC. Oh well, hopefully next year! If you guys are interested - jlike the Lexington KY CCG facebook page OR email me to be added to the CCG email list. We will be hosting Bob McLeod for a comic art workshop (two days - bookending the Lex Comic & Toy Show in March 2014).

Wish I could have attended the Seminar and tonight's event! Will IWG have a table or presence at GenCon on Saturday? Me and hopefully a few other artist/cartoonists willl be driving up from Lexington then.

PS: do you all know about the David Mack (Kabuiki, Daredevil, Avengers writer/artist) brush ink drawing demo at Manifest Drawing Center in Cincinnati tomorrow from 5-9pm - $20 or $10 for students with ID - 18 and over because of nude model - but call them to be sure.

This is an official Gen Con event panel. If you're coming to Gen Con, awesome! Please come!

If you're not attending Gen con it'll be a steep ticket price. I suggest coming to the Meet & Draw in the evening. That one is free. :D

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
