Poll Opened Responses

Extroverts: What type are you?

This is the second of two polls - the purpose of which is to allow people to see the frequency of each of the 16 types, amongst the participants of this meetup. Because the polls on meetup.com only allow a maximum of 12 choices, there are two polls - one for the 8 introverted types and one for the 8 extroverted types. Both are entirely anonymous, so your type can remain a mystery if you wish. If you know what your type is, please choose the correct option from the one of the two polls that apply to you, only. If you are borderline on one or more preferences, try to select the type that seems most descriptive of yourself. If you are unsure, please abstain from this two-part poll. Thanks.

Should the main topic/theme of this meetup be expanded to MBTI in general?

The original focus of this group was on INFP's only, but the meetups have been more sparsely attended than I would like. Over time I have found it prudent to welcome other types even if they differed on one of the preferences. Currently, anyone with an interest in MBTI is also welcome. I now find myself thinking that although I might personally tend to prefer some types over others, it is insightful to be able to talk to people of all of the 16 types. I can gain self-understanding through talking to other types as surely as I can through talking to my own (INFP). I guess what's really valuable about a general meetup is that you can meet all kinds of people while also knowing right away what their type preferences are - which is not something you usually expect to find in typical social situations. If the turnout became too large and thus chaotic, the number of spots could easily be limited. What do others think?

What was the order of your birth in relation to your siblings (if any)?

In theorizing about possible environmental origins of personality, birth order is a common place to look. Being the oldest or youngest can have a strong conditioning effect on behavior. We might surmise INFP's to be more common among a certain birth order, and less common among a different place in the birth order, but that could also be an illusion. That's why I am posing the above question. If you know you are an INFP, choose the option below that most closely fits your birth order. Please note that the choices are more specific for middle children to take into account whether you were almost the oldest or youngest of a big family. If you are not an INFP, please abstain from this poll. Thanks
