Inspire DC exists to awaken all people to God’s invitation to journey towards a more abundant life. We are a community that celebrates, worships, prays, questions, and serves with the goal of encouraging a life giving relationship with Jesus Christ. We strive for justice in our neighborhoods. We seek to discover how our stories reveal God’s hope for the city.

Core Values

We pray to connect with our Creator. Prayer is a live conversation and a statement that God is always with us. We may not fully understand how it works, but we believe that prayer can change attitudes, situations, and people while awakening us to God’s presence.

  • We are unabashedly Christian. For us, life is all about learning to follow the instincts and teaching of Jesus as we navigate our relationships and make all of our decisions.
  • We are an inclusive community where everyone is welcome.
  • We value the Bible and its influence in our lives. The Bible is a beautifully complex collection of inspired writings, telling us the story of God over time. However, taking the Bible seriously for us does not necessarily mean taking it literally in every case. In all of our Scriptural interpretation, the theology and vision of Jesus trumps all.
  • We practice service as a core component of our faith. We cannot stand by and watch our neighbors and friends suffer under injustice. We seek creative means to free our community from the indignity of homelessness, hunger, and the culture of mass incarceration.
  • We see faith practiced in solitude as an incomplete faith. God’s wants us to provide one another with encouragement, support, and care. We meet throughout the week to eat, serve, laugh, pray, and question our way through this world together to deepen our relationship with God and each other.
  • We dream big and aren’t afraid to take risks. God has never called God’s people to live lives of timidity or reclusive behavior. We seek to create nothing less than a bold, vibrant, and heartfelt community that has an effect on our wards, district, nation, and world.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
