When: Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 3:00 PM
Where: Palisades Park
Intersection of Wilshire and Ocean St.
Santa Monica, CA 90401
Greetings friends and holons,
We are venturing into some really dangerous territory now!
After surviving the heat of our investigation into Environmentalism...
...and our Ego topic leaving shards of persona and shadow strewn about...
Integral Gender Studies is up next, with our focus on the feminine!
In addition to a few links to related material (listed below), we are going to open up the content of suggested "homework" to YOU! What sparked an insight for you? What do you feel excited to share? What would you like group feedback about?
Gina has started a discussion entitled "Integral Feminine" on the message board (click on the tab on the left side that says "Messages" to get there) and has listed two items there, as a starting point, for us to consider.
PLEASE list any additions / suggestions for content for our December meetup there, AS A REPLY TO GINA'S POST (making life easy for all, as all the related tabs / links will be under the one message discussion heading, "Integral Feminine").
So, we include (and transcend?) an interesting blog about Integral Gender Studies:http://www.openintegr..
...and the right wing of feminism (Susan Faludi):http://gos.sbc.edu/f/..
...as well as the left wing of feminism (Camille Paglia):http://www.reason.com..
Since our group enfolds both genders, and we wish to meaningfully communicate, a look at the dialect of gender ("Genderlect", by socio-linguist Deborah Tannen) can help us to optimize our efficiency and quality of exchange, to the degree that we authentically engage with each other, and ourselves: http://www.usm.maine...
In the meantime, love the truth and yourself, play nice with the other kids, have a nice turkey day, and we'll see you in December!
Jana & Eliot
For those of you who have never attended a meetup:
We will be meeting at the conrete seating area, pointed towards the sunset/ocean, 20 yards north of the statue of St. Monica, at the "T" intersection of Ocean and Wilshire IF it is open, otherwise some place on the grass preferably in the shade. We recommend the parking structures (as opposed to parking on the street) near 2nd St. and Arizona, OR, alternatively, the parking structure near 4th and Wilshire. They are free for the first two hours and $1 each hour after, maxing out at around $7 a day. Please consider the weather and dress accordingly/comfortably. Sunblock, water, and sunglasses are also recommended. Also, you may want to bring a fold up chair for back support or something comfortable to sit on.
Please feel free to visit Jana and Eliot's website when you have a chance:
If the changes affect your plans to attend, please take a moment to update your RSVP. (You can RSVP 'No' or 'Maybe' as well as 'Yes'.)
You can always get in touch with us through the 'Contact Organizer' feature on the Meetup.com website: http://kenwilber.meetup.com/59/suggestion/
