Announcing a new meeting for Santa Monica Integral Matrix!
What: Santa Monica Integral Matrix March Meetup
When: Saturday, March 8, 3:00 PM
Where: Click the link below to find out!
Meeting Description: Greetings friends / holons,
This months meetup will continue the topic of Boomeritis Spirituality, with an emphasis on the Zone #1 and Zone #2 territory in the UL. If you own Integral Spirituality, you may want to re-read Chapter 5 about this topic, which Ken finds very important. (I-I members can find more information at the Integral Spiritual Center in particular; http://isc.integralinstitute.org/public/Series/SeriesDisplay.aspx?FeaturedCategoryId=35&SeriesType=library.
The on-line reading material will be [taken from Wilber's fictional novel BOOMERITIS:http://kenwilber.com/Writings/PDF/H-bms%20buddhism-jtp.pdf
Also, on the message board, we suggest reading the discussion on Zone 1 & 2 already; particularly Doug's start: http://kenwilber.meetup.com/59/messages/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3919666
For more advanced students, you may want to read the IMP V2.0 in the message board as well as Wilber's on-line excerpts:
About Zone #1 (Excerpt C Part II)http://wilber.shambhala.com/html/books/kosmos/excerptC/part2-1.cfm
About Zone #2 (Excerpt D Part II)http://wilber.shambhala.com/html/books/kosmos/excerptD/part2-1.cfm
For other articles and essays you wish to share, feel free to start a new thread.
NOTES FOR CONDUCT:
Everyone is welcome, period, and from every place along the spiral (as long as behavior is up to a healthy amber / blue standard; politeness/consideration for others & respect to the meetup leaders/CORE members). But we kindly ask that for those who desire to participate in and contribute to the discussion to complete the reading homework prior to attendance (one of the above suggestions ).
We, along with the input of others, would like to maximize the use of our time together and increase depth in conversation when topics apply. For this particular discussion, if you have beginners questions or questions not focused on the topic, please save them for the end of our discussion and/or email the meetup organizers as we would be happy to address them at the appropriate time! For this reason, we strongly recommend that pen and paper are handy, so that no question goes unanswered, and no thought remains unbalanced. Thanks in advance for your consideration on this! We deeply understand that reviewing Integral Basics is an important foundation and in the future there will be opportunities to explore that as each meetup will have a specific and unique (open-ended) structure.
RE: LOCATION: Our location may or may not change this month (we are still checking out suitable alternatives), so please visit the site to see before attending, if you have chosen NOT to receive e-mails about event reminders/changes.
Otherwise, you will be virtually informed.
All the Best,
Jana & Eliot
Our Default Location for those of you who have never attended a meetup:
We will be meeting at the concrete seating area, pointed towards the sunset/ocean, 20 yards north of the statue of St. Monica, at the "T" intersection of Ocean and Wilshire IF it is open, otherwise some place on the grass preferably in the shade. We recommend the parking structures (as opposed to parking on the street) near 2nd St. and Arizona, OR, alternatively, the parking structure near 4th and Wilshire. They are free for the first two hours and $1 each hour after, maxing out at around $7 a day. Please consider the weather and dress accordingly/comfortably. Sunblock, water, and sunglasses are also recommended. Also, you may want to bring a fold up chair for back support or something comfortable to sit on.
Please feel free to visit Jana and Eliot's website when you have a chance:Integral Creatives
