How to be a terrible candidate for a job. (Bonus: Dealing w/terrible recruiters)

  • October 15, 2013 · 6:00 PM

Presentation Description:

Yes...the job market has changed...for the better.  You are in the drivers seat as a candidate.  So you think you are at least!  Wanna learn how to be a terrible candidate for a job?  How to not get the job of your dreams?  He'll show you the worst things to do. You'll learn how to react to requests by an employer and how to overcome - what you think - the is the silliness of multiple interviews, tests, puzzles, evaluations, white boarding, whistling dixie whilst standing on one leg and so on.  (yes, he said whilst... he's fancy).

As a bonus:  Scott will tell you how to deal with terrible recruiters.  What you should look out for and what to absolutely run away from.  Bring your questions....he'll answer them.

Speaker Bio:

Scott is a Partner at Vaco and has 15 years of experience in staffing some of the best development shops that Nashville has ever seen.  He's old school and new school.  He tells it like it is and no you can't have a business card when he's done.  He's a lima bean hater, metal head, fast driver and loves a great glass of cherry kool-aid or Jack Daniels. Follow him at @sgordon70 and a more snarky @antipimp.

Wanna meet him?  Email him at [masked] and he'll rock your face off with a better job that you have now.

Oh yeah....he's giving away 2 tickets to Nine Inch Nails tour that hits Nashville on October 22nd at the end of the night. Better than free pizza at the other groups right?

Scott did a killer talk. Definitely opened up some eyes that finding a job can suck less with someone to truly guide you through it, and who gives a shit. Super stoked about the momentum in Nashville even more so!

Thanks Scott for taking your time for us, and ALL you and Vaco do for the ID and Nashville... ROCK!
