SWEDISH Basic - Lower intermediate level - NOT ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS

  • May 6, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Note, if you are an absolute beginner then this group will be too advanced for you, please see our links to free Swedish learning to help you get started. Once you are able to start having a conversation then come back to this group.

This meetup is for those who speak and understand basic or lower intermediate level Swedish or higher, which means you are either studying at SFI or at Folkuniversitet at level A1-B1 or the equivalent. Absolute Beginners please check our very popular Sunday meetups.

NOTE: We work actively to achieve a ratio of four participants per host by following this system:

  1. People RSVP to the session and may have to join the waiting list. It's possible to RSVP one week before the event, that means previous Monday, at 9pm.
  2. Host who can attend RSVPs Yes.
  3. Host increases maximum number of participants for the meetup by 5 (= host + 4 participants).
  4. The Meetup site automatically moves 4 participants from the waiting list to the Yes list in the order in which they RSVPed, and sends out a mail informing those people.

PARTICIPANTS: For this system to work, it is vital that you keep your RSVPs current. If you got a spot OR if you are on the waiting list, AND it turns out you cannot make it, change your RSVP to No to make room for someone else.

WE TAKE ATTENDANCE AT THE MEETUP. If you change your RSVP to No after 6 PM on Sunday OR you have RSVPed Yes and simply do not attend, you will be marked as No Show. This will affect your registration for future sessions: others will be given priority and you will only be able to participate if there is room.

NO CHARGE BUT... While there is no charge for attending the meetup, the café does expect every participant to buy something to drink and/or eat. Please respect this policy, otherwise we will not be able to continue to use their space.

Hej Odella, I was still on the waiting list at 17.30 so assumed I wouldn't get in, so I went home. Now I've just received an email confirming me. I'm sorry but I can't make it now! Hopefully someone else can take my spot, Hannah

Hi Hannah. So the way it works is that for as long as you are on the waiting list the assumption is that you can make it. Best to change your RSVP to No when you decide it is too late to receive notification that you're in (i.e. before you go home). See you another time! Odella

Anita and Imran...can you please answer the mails I sent you?
I would like to know whether you plan on helping out at Swedish tomorrow. In that case we can let in some more participants from the waiting list!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
