English Debate Club

This week's topic:

Should plastic surgery be subject to the same ethical guidelines as other medicine?  If I walked into a hospital and requested a heart transplant, I would be turned away because I don't need one.  But if I asked for a new face, it would be considered my choice... is this right?  Should plastic surgeons take responsibility for their patients' psychological well being?

The English Debate Club:

Challenge and improve your English skills with lively discussions and debates!  Sometimes we stick to debate format, other times it evolves into a general discussion.

Topics will be set at least a week in advance (please feel free to message the group leader with topic suggestions) and participants are welcome to prepare beforehand or wing it - but everyone will be encouraged to contribute to the discussion.  Teams will be assigned on the night, so be prepared to argue either side of the debate.  There will be some preparation time once teams are assigned.

Focus will be on crafting arguments in English, phrasing for emphasis and expanding vocabulary at an advanced level.  Native English speakers who would like to brush up on their debating skills very welcome also!

nowdays most people like to copy out each other and they think that its good thing to make plastic operation without even getting any information they just agree to do it but the problem is that before doing such an operation we should get information about it i guess .and i think whatever the client asks doctor should reply for them and show the right way without turning them down.many doctors don't take into consideration their patients psychology they jhust5 do their job.

This is the demonstration I was talking about, and for which I would like some company: https://www.facebook.com/events/311731065626270/?fref=ts
Then there's this song that I thought of during our discussion today. It's from a children's show that I don't know but I think it's perfect! http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xmstfh_mcr-on-yo-gabba-gabba_fun

We've been here ever since six. Perhaps you're on the wrong place? Ask the waiters, if you're at String, they'll know.

Awfully sorry guys, I've just been dumped with some work I have to get done for tomorrow... so presumably you'll have a much better time now! If I finish when it would still be worth coming I will join, but go ahead and start as it'll definitely be after 6...
