As the title indicates, this meetup is an invitation to local people who would be interested in reading and discussing books and materials related to religion, spirituality, belief, faith, worldviews, interfaith and comparative religion, etc.
Selected materials may cover a wide range of subjects and depends on the interests of the group. We may read books about some theme in religion in general (eg., mystical experience, or afterlife), or about a particular religion or religious group, or about something (or someone) in history.
That said, our meetings will be friendly and informal. The only requirement is a willingness to discuss matters of religion and belief openly and respectfully. As such this group might appeal most to those with an eclectic and open-ended approach to religion.
It is unfortunate that religion is often believed to be one of those subjects not to be brought up in conversation for its supposed contentious or sensitive nature, but if we accept this idea we are bound to lose out on a lot of meaningful and fascinating discussions to be had and many insights to be shared.
