IEMG Concert - "Warning from Space"

On May 21st, you're invited to an electronic music event at Woodruff Place Town Hall. The third musical performance of the evening, which I'll be participating in, is set to a 30 min. edit of the Japanese film "Warning from Space." Released in 1956, this is the first Japanese sci-fi film produced in color. Even with very different production standards from today, they do a great job of showing the rising tension and reaction across Earth, both visually and in the audio (samples of which are included in the performance). Elizabeth Kenney from this group will be exhibiting some of her paintings as well. Hope to see you there for a fun night!

Music by ODLFaux Pas Quartet, Improvisation by IEMG members.
Featured visual artist Elizabeth Kenney

IEMG is an organization made up of electronic and electro-acoustic musicians committed to building community and supporting each other through meetings, performances, seminars, parties, improv sessions, collaborations and workshops.

"The Oratory of Divine Love" is the radio-manipulation project of John Gore. It has been in existence since the early 00's. The goal is new music drawn from the radio wave aether that surrounds us all. It can be both noisy and surreal.
Music for the within and without.

Faux Pas Quartet, 7:45
Enjoy improvisations and songs by this eclectic and innovative quartet.
Soft and hard synths, electric bass, electronic wind instrument, a pedal tray and female vocals are used to create beats, bleepy-blurpy noises, intricate melodies, samples, and haunting vocals. Faux Pas Quartet combines free form improvisation with traditional song structure to create innovative melodies, harmony and grooves.

Warning from Space! 8:45
Members of IEMG improvise to an edit of the 1956 Japanese Sci-Fi classic.
Warning from Space! was the first Japanese science fiction film to be produced in color. In the film's plot, starfish-like aliens disguised as humans travel to Earth to warn of the imminent collision of a rogue planet and Earth.

Featured visual artist: Elizabeth Kenney
Elizabeth Kenney's art focuses on landscape and figurative work with elements of surrealism, symbolism, and narrative.

Pls. note that East Dr. is named "E. Woodruff Place Dr." on the actual street sign. The correct road is just east of Family Dollar off 10th.

Doors open and food/beverages are available at 6pm. Music starts at 7pm and ends just after 9pm. Pizza (veggie, pepperoni and sausage) is $2 a slice. Chips, muffins, soft drinks are $1. There are places to dine downtown or in Irvington before/after the show, and lists options. Woodruff place town hall is halfway down East Dr. on the east side of the road. Allow time for street parking, and map the address, 735 East Dr. Indianapolis, IN 46201, and you'll be set! See ya :-)

Hi, we need 2 or 3 volunteers tomorrow evening to help out at the show, either at the front door or with food and beverages--for around an hour and a half to two hours. You'd have free admission and free dinner too! Let me know if interested. Thanks :-)
