This month we will be going to Birreria Ocotlan for some authentic Mexican style goat soup. This place has been one of my personal favorites for a long time. Birria is a deep flavored soup made with dried roasted peppers and goat meat that originated from the Jalisco region of Mexico. It will be a real treat for a cold December day.
I will have other things on the menu as well. They do torta ahogada which is another Jalisco dish. It is basically a torta (Mexican sandwich) covered in a red sauce made of tomato and chile de árbol.
I might also have Campechana which is a seafood cocktail served with tostadas. They also have several unique taco meats I have not found anywhere else in the city.
Even though I have not solidified the menu yet this one will be a cheaper event $10-15.
This will be served family style and the place is not huge so please only RSVP if you can make it.
