Suave Salsa Session - Quatre

Greeting Everyone. It's that time of the month again. For those who have just joined the group, welcome. I have a rep for organizing salsa dance parties for various meetup tribes I'm involved with these days. I will be hosting one at Vango. There is no cover charge. You simply show up at 8:30 p.m., take adavantage of the salsa 101 lesson, covering the basics. It is taught by my friend and fellow salsero Todd. He infuses his lessons, with laughter, fun & the policy that "no one gets left behind". As a bonus, you will get a free pass to check out some of the classes offered by the studio where he is on staff as an instructor. It's around the corner, called MasterJay Moves. I look forward to those who can make it. You are also more than welcome to bring friends..the more the merrier. If you do, please indicate how many in rsvp section, so I know to ask him ahead of time for enough passes. Viva La Musica! Viva la Salsa Baby!

Again, there is no cover charge. I will be either by the bar towards the back or by the dj booth, Sagira, All you have to figure in terms of cost is how much you plan on drinking in btwn dances, as everyopne has their own tolerance levels.

Here are tips for those who are new to this dynamic:

    1) Most important: Have fun
    2) Purchase at least one drink at bar (bottle of H20, soda, cocktail, beer, wine, etc.) The bar stafff really enjoy working this night & watching everyone in their free moments. The least we can do in thanks is make a purchase & tip them well.
    3) Some salsa songs are slow, some medium and some have fast rhtyhms. It's up to you to decide which ones you feel comfortable trying out for the first time after the lesson.
    4) Don't take it personally if the person you ask decides not to dance with you.
    5) It is perfectly reasonable for you, whether you're a girl or guy, to decline an invite to dance for a particular song if you don't feel like it. Just remember to show common courtesy by waiting for the song to end. Then as dj starts the next tune & you feel like dancing, ask someone.

I'm sure most of this may be repetitive, but I thought it couldn't hurt just to post them. See ya guys on the 7th.
