Hello Friends,

As you may know, the Center for Global Development hosts a summer film series called Global Development Matters. One evening a month, we will screen a film in our offices. We often engage the filmmakers and/or experts on the topic to participate in a discussion after the film. As we begin to think about what films to host for the summer of 2012, we'd like to ask you all for suggestions.

The films should be relatively new and should relate to development, and preferably to one of our areas of research, which can be found on our website at http://www.cgdev.org/. While we generally screen documentaries, suggestions of fictional films as well as interesting conversation pieces in other mediums are welcome as well.

The 2011 films were:

  • Bhutto (http://www.meetup.com/intlrel-68/events/21183531/)
  • The Redemption of General Butt Naked (http://www.meetup.com/intlrel-68/events/24607351/)
  • There Once Was An Island: Te Henua e Nnoho (http://www.meetup.com/intlrel-68/events/29014101/)

I look forward to hearing your suggestions and hope to see you at our Global Development Matters nights this summer!

Best,

Kyla Lawrence
