We are a social and activities based group for Peterborough and the surrounding area. We are by far the biggest meetup group within 25 miles of Peterborough.
Our aim is to organise events to get people out and about and socialising with each other. If you want to meet new people or expand your circle of friends and activities then this group could be the place for you.

We also arrange Day trips, Weekend breaks and holidays and are always looking for new things to try. Our holidays so far have included Wye Valley, Denmark, Brighton, Iceland, Bruges, Krakow, Barcelona, Liverpool, Dublin, 2 Ski Trips, Amsterdam and Lisbon.
This group is an organiser based group with experienced event planners taking the lead in organising events. We have sound financial control and a group kitty as a limited insurance for our events. This hopefully gives people more confidence with our events and a more professional feel to the group.
The group was founded in Jan-2012 by Janet Wilkinson.
Lotte Kolind ran the group from Nov-2012 until July-2013.
Jonathan Rippon (myself) took over at the end of July 2013 after being co-organiser with Lotte in June & July 2013.
To see what others make of our group have a read of our group reviews here;
There is no membership fee to joinand most of our events are free. We have a purely voluntary kitty so people can contribute to the group. This allows us to organise bigger and better events plus also acts as a limited insurance if companies we book with go bust.
CODE OF CONDUCT / BEHAVIOUR
I expect everybody to treat others with respect. I will remove any member showing inappropriate or antisocial behaviour. The group is also private, which means non-members cannot see who is a member - so you should feel safe joining us.
Our group is for all people of working age, we have members in their early 20s through to people in their 50's or 60's. We have events to suits everybody.
The group welcomes everybody on an equal basis and enjoys the diversity of having many people in the group who are not native to Peterborough / England. We have people from Portugal, Poland, India, Iran, China, Spain, Denmark, Ireland, Brazil, Latvia, Lithuania, Australia and New Zealand within the group.
THIS IS NOT A SINGLES OR DATING GROUP - This group's prime aim is to organise fun activities for people to enjoy and to enable people to socialise together. Most of our members tend to be single but we also have many couples within the group too. My main aim to create a community of people who support each other !
JOINING THE GROUP
Anybody who complies with the above can apply to join the group but be aware that I do limit entry to try to maintain the diversity of the group. This can mean that your held on the pending list for a period of time, depending on who else is applying to join at that time.
We recommend that you try to come along within the first 6 weeks of joining. If your shy or reluctant for whatever reason, contact me or another one of our event hosts and we'll help you take that first step.
Be aware that I actively manage our members list and do remove inactive members - this is to keep our membership count real. You will always be able to re-join at another time.
We do require all members to have a profile photo of themselves for identification purposes. If you submit a photo or picture of anything/anyone else but yourlself, your request to join will be declined. This is important for the hosts as they need to know who is coming to the events, but it also increases the trust and security within the group - which is very important to us.
CONTRIBUTING TO THE GROUP
We have a dedicated group of organisers within In Touch but are always looking to encourage new organisers/hosts to join the leadership team. Members can also add single events as suggestions once they have established themselves within the group (min of 5 months). If there's an event going on somewhere and you'd like company - then add it as a suggestion on the site or tell one of the group event organisers about it. The involvement of members helps the group continue to grow and offer a large range of events to suit all.
